Scottish Rock Band Nazareth Releases New Album
These days what is found in the Scottish rock scene often makes many of us lovers of the genre want the good old days to come back and soon. We may find ourselves listening to those classic rock band that are long forgotten and praying that someday soon one of them would resurface. Well the wait seems to be over as the classic rock band Nazareth has recently released their newest album, ‘Big Dogz’.

This latest project can in no way be considered one of those that seem to seek to cash in on the bands past glory for the sake of it. Now Nazareth is considered one of Scotland’s greatest export and the paved the way for many of the rock bands from the country. They have also been a great influence on a number of rock bands.
In the 70’s many fans would fill up with red diesel Scotland to go see Nazareth perform and to enjoy the bands mixture of progressive rock and hard rock. With this new album the band seems to have captured the sound, feel, and musicality of that time gone by.

“Big Dogz” features two of the original members of the band bassist Pete Agnew and vocalist Dan McCafferty with Jimmy Murrison replacing lead guitarist Manny Charlton and Lee Agnew (Pete’s son) replacing the late Darrell Sweet on drums.
The album features an amazing array of songs including “Big Dog’s Gonna Howl,” which showcases the bands musical talents and versatility. There are love songs done in the style of what we all would have expected from this talented bunch. The alum is so reminiscent of the hay day of this band but with a modern take that is so refreshing.
This is a great album from a band that many ne bands can certainly learn from. One can only hope that it won’t be their last.
